So, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2” is officially going ahead with Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen signing on to star.
The two haven’t been seen on screen together since 1994’s “Wing Chun,” directed by Yuen Woo Ping, which makes this news even more exciting because Woo Ping is directing the new sequel! Apparently it’ll be going under the name, “Green Destiny” and will begin filming next year.

I’m of mixed minds about this announcement. The talent on board is phenomenal but Yuen Woo Ping have the technical prowess to match the aesthetic of the original? “True Legend” looked like a Syfy channel movie in places.
Hopefully, with a big budget behind him (the Weinsteins are producing) and a solid cinematographer, this could be something special.
One thing’s for sure, the action will definitely be on point. Donnie and Woo Ping always work well together (“Iron Monkey”).
